LAGG Teaching Garden Third Anniversary

EVENT CANCELLED DUE TO RAIN.

Please look for upcoming notice of rescheduling to spread mulch.

CANCELLED: Third Anniversary of the start of LA Green Grounds Teaching Garden on January 12, 2019. Many of you were there to start the garden on January 2, 2016. We will follow tradition and lay down some fresh mulch over the garden to ready it for 2019.

Come and see what's growing now, and share some traditional ways to celebrate the New Year:
1. Harvest kale and learn from Beth how to make a great salad
2. Harvest some Pigeon Peas for you to take home and plant
3. Harvest some herbs, make an herb bundle to take home
4. Taste Steven's traditional black-eye peas and rice, and Florence's traditional Japanese azuki rice and beans
5. Learn how to write a Japanese calligraphy wish for the New Year: "Peace", "Love", "Health", "Happiness" - take home and hang up on a wall or on a tree.
6. Learn about the benefits of Fava Beans, take some home to plant
7. End the celebration with a Native American "bathing" in the smoke of a sage smudge

See you at the garden!
