Here's a good mid-winter fertilizing tip for your greens and new growth.
This is cotton seed meal and here is a newly planted romaine lettuce. We're clearing the soil around the edge of it; not too close to
the plant itself. And for Romaine we're just going to do a very very light sprinkling. Then we're going to fork it back in. Be sure not to pull the surface of the soil but instead you are trying to mix the meal into the soil.
After you do that, water to make sure the fertilizer is wet. Once you do that, you mix it in again after you've watered it.
