LA Victory Garden Class Taught by LA Green Grounds
Get your green thumb groove going as a participant in this class. Learn how to grow fruits and vegetables in your backyard through the Grow LA Vegetable Garden (GLAVG) initiative.
4 Sundays in Spring: March 12, 19, 26, April 2, 9:30 to 1:00 (includes 1/2 hour break)
Small, hands-on classes, where participants learn the ins-and-outs of soil preparation, irrigation, planting, pest management, and harvesting. You will learn how to create your own edible garden for fresh, organic produce by learning how to:
- Create good soil out of your current
- What, how and when to plant
- How much and how often to add compost and water
- Manage insect pests and encourage "good bugs"
- Increase yield and add variety
Attend all 4 sessions to receive your Victory Garden Certificate. In addition to learning the basics of successful gardening, participants can meet others in their community and build a new network of gardening friends.
