Master Gardener Florence Nishida demo'ing how to plant leeks in raised bed.
We had scattered compost over the whole bed.
Plant them in a trench so you have the mound of dirt around it.
Make our rows about 6" apart - 1 foot is even better if you have the space.
Separate the leeks carefully from each other.
Put the root at the bottom of the trench, and the put dirt over the sides of the leek.
Space about 5-6" part.
Sprinkle dirt over the roots so they are covered.
Leave this high pile of dirt because in about a week we going to add more dirt to the planted area.
