LEARN HOW TO MAKE BOKASHI!!!
A fast easy method for turning your kitchen waste into rich soil.
Homemade compost, one of the best ways to feed the soil and so, your plants is often hard for people to keep up with. But maybe, you didn't cut everything up or didn't water and turn, so nothing decomposed.
Making a great enriching soil condition with Bokashi, a starter mix of organic material (grain) and beneficial microbes is a great way to have compost from kitchen waste in 2 weeks! Bokashi uses a fermentation process, so you can even compost bones, meat, tough plants like pineapple ends without unpleasant odors. The compost pail is small, neat, unobtrusive.
Learn how to make Bokashi at our workshop with all kitchen waste to provide “food” for your soil while retaining carbon instead of releasing to the atmosphere. Use Bokashi and composting to improve your soil and food production.
Bokashi does not require a large yard, unlike traditional composting. It does require a place to bury your completed bokashi.
Thanks to sponsorship of Great Leap and the support of the West Adams Neighborhood Council, the class fee is being waived. For those who have already paid, communication about your refund has been sent. If you have not received it, please contact [email protected].
In response to the demand, we have expanded the class size to 30 students. Registration is required below.
Note: Only the first 20 class registrants will receive the bokashi kits: a 2 lb. bag of starter Bokashi and a double bucket set for kitchen waste collection.
