2025 Grow LA Garden Fall Class

Grow LA Vegetable Garden Class taught by LA Green Grounds

Get your green thumb groove going as a participant in this class (formerly known as LA Victory Garden Class). Learn how to grow fruits and vegetables in your backyard.

4 Sundays in Fall: September 21 & 28, and October 5 & 12, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (includes 1/2 hour break)

Small, hands-on classes, where participants learn the ins-and-outs of soil preparation, irrigation, planting, pest management, and harvesting. You will learn how to create your own edible garden for fresh, organic produce by learning how to:

  • Create good soil out of your current
  • What, how and when to plant
  • How much and how often to add compost and water
  • Manage insect pests and encourage "good bugs"
  • Increase yield and add variety

Classes will be held in LA Green Ground's Teaching Garden located at the east end of the Good Earth Community Garden at Carmona Avenue and Boden Street, Los Angeles CA 90016.

Attend all 4 sessions to receive your garden certificate. In addition to learning the basics of successful gardening, participants can meet others in their community and build a new network of gardening friends.

Wear comfortable clothes and sturdy shoes. Bring sun protection, a refillable water container, a notebook, a smile and your questions.  After you register, you will be redirected to our Release Forms page. Complete the Class/Workshop form prior to the 1st day of class. Use event dates: September 21 - October 12, 2025.
